In-band management systems are very effective methods of managing a server and devices connected to the server only when the server is functioning properly. With the tools needed to remotely access computers within the network or server, systems administrators can remote-access connections, control, and manage servers from an off-site location. In-band systems rely on the operating systems network drivers to establish a computer connection. Using a network adapter, in-band console management systems make a connection through a designated port that is housed on the target server.
